The Conclusion of a Long Journey
Through the many instructional technology courses that I've taken, and the many obstacles I have encountered and overcome, I have learned so much about why technology is important in today's classroom and how to use it to my advantage. In order to prepare our students for success in the 21st century, we need to not only teach them how to use technology effectively and creatively, but also model responsible technology use in school and beyond. I have likened my experience to that of an odyssey, as each course was like a new land with a unique set of challenges and lessons. In the beginning, I was a novice that did not have the tools to teach others. However, as I studied different topics and learned the value of technology resources, I acquired an expansive set of skills that leave me feeling confident in my abilities to not just incorporate technology into my own classroom, but to also share it with others and help my peers develop as well. While my current journey has come to a close, I know that the possibilities in instructional technology are endless and that my adventure will continue.
